Voices of Oakland

Description

A prototype wearable electronic system designed to facilitate a self-guided audio tour of Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. The system comprises a backpack with a tablet computer and personal GPS tracking system, a set of headphones and a handheld controller. As the visitor approaches various sites around the cemetery, the system plays audio clips that combine sound effects, narrative re-enactments and spoken information about architecture, history and the lives of the deceased.
